Marta always thought stagecraft and make-up artistry were magic enough for her. Until this Halloween night, she hadn’t thought much about wizards or magic beyond the theater venue. So when the handsome young man she meets Halloween night says he’s in fact a wizard from another world, she doesn’t believe him. His wild tale about returning her to her birth parents there is unsettling. She had always known she was adopted, but from another world? It didn’t matter how attractive Ayden was, when what he said was too much of a stretch to believe.
In spite of that, a twist of fate lands Marta in Ayden’s world, where her strange relatives aren’t expecting her to be a grown up, or have a theater career. Marta is not sure what to make of a land where castles are still royal domiciles, and warrior tribes wander.
Ayden’s plans to return Marta to Earth are put on hold when a crucial magical component of his nation’s defenses is stolen and must be retrieved before war breaks out.
Marta begins making her way in a foreign world of strangers on the edge of war. It might be the biggest acting challenge of Marta’s career… or can she make it a new way of life?

I've been there with A.M. Fox throughout the entire writing process of this book (as a member of her writer's group at Powell's books in Portland, Oregon) and from the beginning it's been a great fantasy read! As it's developed into the great book it's become, I've enjoyed every step along the way. Marta is a strong, funny, lovable lead character, as are all the characters she has created in this fun, exciting read. Never a dull moment for sure and the underlying romance between Marta and Ayden is sweetly titillating. Buy the book...you won't be disappointed!!!Product details

An enjoyable fantasy novel. Believable characters and solid dialog. I'm looking forward to the sequel.
A fun story full of quirky characters on a quest to save their world. A good story to get lost in for awhile.
The story line is original and the characters are easy to like. It's a fast fun read with magic, fantasy and a bit of romance too!
I wasn't expecting much when I clicked on the "Look inside" button, but the story captured me right away and I had to buy the rest to see what would happen.
Honestly, this was not a super-original, groundbreaking story, but the pace and the characters kept me reading to the end.
I highly recommend giving this book a try, especially if you like a good old-fashioned, well-written fantasy.
